What a swell party!

The If Walls Could Talk 50s style celebration on the 23rd August was attended by about 70 people (with a whopping 27 people also going on the final guided tour of the Park Estate). We’ve had some lovely feedback – about the booklet, the exhibition, the tour, the 50s food and music, and above all, the great atmosphere at the party, getting old and new residents of the Park area together, reminiscing and learning about our shared past. The link below takes you to an album of photos from the event…

Wonderful feedback on our first tour of the Park Estate!

We had a great time on our first guided tour of the Park Estate this afternoon. The wonderful ‘Daisy’  shared all the local gossip with us and pointed out the old buildings and their uses as they would have been in 1960. A member of the tour group has just posted the following on Facebook:

“Just been on the guided tour. What can I say Daisy was absolutely fabulous and such a character!! I learnt so much about the area I live in, so professional I would have happily paid for it. If you haven’t signed up to go on the tour what are you waiting for you wont regret it. So thanks to Amy for organising this and for the lovely people who accompanied me on the tour. 10/10 cant praise it enough a BIG THANK YOU!!”
